About Us

Friends of Rabbits (FoR) is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization founded in 1997 as a domestic rabbit rescue. We take house rabbits in from crowded and high-kill shelters in the region, in addition to stray domestic rabbits and hoarding situations. Over 90% of our work is accomplished by a large network of volunteers, fosters and donors, that help us save over 200 rabbits each year.

Mission Statement

Our Goals are education, rescue and advocacy for domestic rabbits.

Educate the public on the responsibilities involved with having a rabbit and the importance of spay/neutering

Rescue rabbits from shelters with emergency funding, fostering, and adoption support

Advocate by assuring a safe and healthy environment for every companion rabbit and supporting their caregiver

Rescue as many domestic rabbits as possible within our means.
